Salted Caramel Cookie Butter Latte

March 29, 2024

This drink is like a love letter to all the coffee admirers out there. And if, like me, you’re sensitive to caffeine, this latte is just as amazing in a decaf version. I think the title says it all, but in case you’re still wondering what makes a Salted Caramel Cookie Butter Latte so delicious, let me fill you in on the delicious details.

3 Main Parts of a Latte

1. Coffee

Now, if you have an espresso machine, you could absolutely use this to make your coffee/espresso. I don’t, so I made a coffee using the pour-over technique. You only need a small amount unless you’re making this latte for a few people.

2. Creamy Goodness

You could drink this cookie butter coffee black, but it’s the creaminess of the non-dairy milk middle, and the salted caramel cold foam topper, that makes this a treat. I used an oat milk barista blend for this drink and I think it added a nice rich creaminess to the drink.  That said, you could substitute the milk for whichever you prefer.

3. Foam

Now, if you don’t have the equipment to make a cold foam, don’t worry. The latte will still have you swooning. You can either use a handheld mixer to make cold foam or an electric mixer.

Handheld mixer

As far as handheld mixers/frothers go, I like this one.  I actually use this one to make the cookie butter and coffee mixture. But you could use this mixer for both the cookie butter coffee and the salted caramel foam if you wish!

I started with the handheld frother and used it for years. I still keep one in my kitchen for certain drinks.

That said, I use my electric frother every day for my matcha lattes and drinks like this. I love that you can customize the settings to have the foam at the exact temperature you need.

You can fool anyone into thinking you’re a real barista with one of these things.

Electric Frother

How to give your latte a Salted Caramel Cookie Butter twist:

Earths Own Oat Barista, Salted Caramel Oat Creamer, and Lotus Biscoff Cookie Butter

Cookie Butter – I’ve seen a few other cookie butter brands out there that would probably work just the same, but I used Lotus Biscoff Cookie Spread for this latte.

Place your cookie butter in a cup and your coffee. Take your handheld frother and begin mixing until the butter and coffee are combined. Set aside, or refrigerate so that it has a chance to chill.

Salted Caramel Creamer – For anyone who enjoys coffee or tea lattes, you know that finding a tasty creamer is a serious business. I’m sure there are a couple of options out there but I used Earth’s Own Salted Caramel creamer for this and it was magical. It had the perfect amount of flavour and sweetness. Despite only using it for cold foam, the flavours sunk into this latte and you could taste the salted caramel with every sip.

Salted Caramel Cookie Butter Latte in the making

Step 1 – Make coffee

Step 2 – Add the cookie butter and coffee mixture to a cup and mix with a handheld mixer until blended. Set aside or refrigerate to chill.

Step 3 – Add salted caramel creamer to your electric or handheld frother.

Step 4 – Fill a glass with ice, followed by the non-dairy milk of choice. Then add coffee and cookie butter mixture and top with salted caramel cold foam.

Extra Razzle Dazzle:

If you happen to have some Lotus Biscoff cookies lying around, then I highly recommend crumbling some and sprinkling it on top of the latte for a little extra something. Just one sip will transform you and give you the ultimate cafe experience.
