One of my favourite local coffee shops introduced me to Strawberry Matcha Lattes, and they have been my go-to ever since. There’s something about the umami flavour of the matcha paired with the sweet vibrancy of the strawberry that makes each sip a treat for your taste buds. While this recipe is for an iced Strawberry Matcha Latte, I have also enjoyed this combination hot, and it is just as dreamy.

This Vegan Strawberry Matcha Latte is the perfect balance of earthy and sweet, creamy and refreshing. Whether you’re a matcha lover or just looking to switch up your drink routine, this recipe is a must-try. Enjoy it as a peaceful morning ritual or an afternoon pick-me-up—you won’t be disappointed.

Why You’ll Love This Latte
- Dash of Sweetness: Using strawberries brings a natural and fresh sweetness to every sip. I also add a splash of my favourite coffee creamer, but you could omit it.
- Nutrient-Rich: Matcha is loaded with antioxidants and provides a gentle caffeine boost without the jitters.
- Dairy-Free & Vegan: Make this with your favourite plant-based milk for a creamy, indulgent texture. I personally used soy but any other non-dairy milk would be delish!
- Pretty & Pink: A stunning layered drink that’s as Instagram-worthy as it is delicious.
Taking Your Strawberry Matcha Latte to the Next Level
For this latte, I doubled up on the strawberry part. Not only does this latte have a deliciously thick strawberry cold foam, but I didn’t stop there. No iced latte is complete without, well, ice. And rather than use typical water ice cubes, I decided to bring an extra festive valentine flair by filling silicone heart molds with the same non-dairy strawberry milk.
By simply splitting the non-dairy strawberry milk in half, you get both strawberry ice cubes and strawberry cold foam for this matcha latte. It ensures that your matcha doesn’t get watered down. Instead, it maintains that fresh berry burst of flavour with every delightful sip.
That said, this isn’t necessary! Feel free to add regular ice cubes if you’re pinched for time and just half the ingredients for the non-dairy Strawberry Milk.

What You’ll Need for This Berry Delicious Latte
Ingredients:
Non-Dairy Strawberry Milk
- 7-8 fresh strawberries rinsed and tops removed

Matcha Layer
- 1- 2 tsp ceremonial-grade matcha powder
- 1/4 cup hot water (not boiling)

Instructions:
- Make strawberry non-dairy milk. Add a handful of strawberries to a blender with 400ml of non-dairy milk along with a sweetener of choice. Blend until smooth.
- Make ice-cubes. Pour have the strawberry milk into silicone molds (I used hearts and xox silicone molds) and freeze for at least 20 minutes.
- Make matcha. Add matcha powder to a bowl and pour in hot water, whisking to remove any clumps. You can also use a mesh sieve to ensure there are no clumps. Add plain non-dairy milk and set aside.
- Froth. Use a frothing machine or handheld frother to thicken the remaining non-dairy strawberry milk.
- Combine. Add strawberry milk ice cubes to a glass. Pour matcha mixture in, followed by the frothed strawberry milk.
- Optional. Add some extra ice cubes on top for an extra cute for a visually appealing drink.

Tips for the Perfect Strawberry Matcha Latte
- Use High-Quality Matcha: Ceremonial-grade matcha ensures a smooth, vibrant flavour.
- Sweetness Adjustment: Feel free to skip or adjust the amount based on your taste.
- Enhance the Pink Colour: Add freeze-dried strawberry powder to your strawberry milk to give it a richer pink colour.
- Chill the Layers: Ensuring the strawberry layer is completely cooled and frothed helps maintain distinct layers in your latte.
- Get Creative: Top with fresh strawberry slices or a dusting of matcha powder for extra flair.
